JESTING WINS IN THE MUD Carries Top Weight and Outfinishes Albania in Blossom Time Handicap at Old Aqueduct. NEW YORK, N. Y., June 11 Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs Jesting, top weight, was winner of the Blossom Time Handicap at Aqueduct today. It was the mile feature for the day i and confined to fillies and mares and the daughter of Snob TL Juvenescence was driven out by Arcaro to score over William H. Berris Albania, and far back of the pair, j Louis Strubes Janeen took third from Miss I Rainbow, with Emily Jane, the only other I starter, a distant last. The going was muddy from the recent rains and while the day cleared nicely the rain of the forenoon kept the attendance down. The start in the Blossom Time Handicap was a ragged one and Janeen beat the others away with Albania second arid Miss Rainbow led Jesting. Emily Jane left sluggishly to be a bad last all through the running. In contrast to her previous effort when she was rushed into a long early lead, Arcaro moved up smoothly with the old mare and at the first turn she was being led by Janeen and Miss Rainbow, Albania also having been eased back slightly when in stride. Turning from the back stretch Jesting passed Janeen and under restraint drew away to a lead of a length and a half, which was soon increased to three lengths and she was well in hand. Janeen held second jplace and Miss Rainbow was third until a furlong out when Albania moved up to come into the contention. She readily put both rMiss Rainbow and Janeen away and continued to gain on the Jacobs mare until Arcaro was forced to rouse his mount sharply and keep right at her to win by a length. This final charge of Albania carried her out six lengths before Janeen, while Miss Rainbow quit so badly she was another eight lengths away.
