MISS MARS broke slowly, worked her way up rapidly on the inside in the final three-eighths, tesponded readily to vigorous handling in the stretch and wore down LADY ORCHID in the last few strides. The latter, hustled into a good lead quickly, continued gamely, but was unable to withstand the winner. WISE PRINCESS tired in the final eighth after having been well up. SAILORMAN, away well and hard urged throughout, set the pace for a quarter mile, was headed thereafter by ADA W., but responded to vigorous shaking up and wore down the latter. ADA W., rushed hard to reach the leaders at the far turn, lost ground into the stretch and tired. EMMIE R. improved its position steadily under urging and finished gamely. CHEROKEE RED began slowly, was forced to race wide while working its way up and faltered in the drive. CHARMED CIRCLE tired. BEAUTIFUL BUD was through after showing speed for Half a mile. QUEEN REGNANT moved up with a rush on the inside soon after the start, took the lead after three-eighths, increased her advantage rapidly and won as her rider pleased. DEFT was slow to settle into stride, lost ground while working its way up and showed a good effort. INTRIP, far back early, displayed speed and closed strongly. GOLDEN SEA, in close quarters going to the far turn, came strongly when clear. NANKI POO tired in the final eighth. HINKEY DINK quit after forcing the pace most of the way. The latter, hard hustled throughout and with a big saving- of ground set the pace under pressure, held on gamely, but could not withstand the winner. STARRY FLAG forced the early pace, but tired in the last three-sixteenths. R. L. BAKER could not keep up. FLYING TRUE and OVERTRICK were outrun. FIFTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. The latter stumbled going around the first turn, was taken to the outside, took the lead with a rush at the three-eighths post, then raced wide and tired. MR. MACK improved his position gradually and showed a good effort. OUR SAMMY was taken into pockets twice and was pinched back when worked his way up on the inside. MASTER FRANK was through after three-quarters.
