GEORGE raced in closest pursuit of the early pace, took command after going a half mile, drew away into a long lead on the lower turn, but was tiring badly at the end and pulled up lame. HOME WORK, far back early, moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. KANSASCITIAN, away well, took a good lead at the upper turn, but tired badly in the last quarter mile. HONEST SUSAN was outrun. BAGGAGE MASTER quit. PENMAR was outrun. DIXIE D., much the best, quickly raced BLONDSURE into the ground, drew away into a good lead on the back stretch and easily held the field safe. SARAH JUSTICE, well placed in the early running, lost ground by racing wide, but held on gamely. BOURBON PRINCE, far back early, moved up steadily and finished gamely. KING TODAY, away well, moved up gamely after, going, a half mile, but tired in the last eighth. INDIAN LORE was outrun. BLONDSURE quit. MULLET was outrun. FRUMPER was always far back.
