GRANDMOTHER, 83, PLIES WEST DETROIT, Mich., June 11. Mrs. Julia Smith, 83-year-old grandmother of trainer Jim Smith, of Mrs. C. S. Howards Stable, flew from her home in San Francisco for a visit with her grandson. She will fly to Colorado, Monday, to visit other relatives before returning to her Frisco home.
