CLAIMING RACES AT TORONTO Cheaper Horses Dominate Fridays Sport Candy Feast Takes Purse for Canadian-Breds. TORONTO, Ont., June 11. Another program made up entirely of claiming events was offered the public at Long Branch for Fridays sport. The nearest approach to a feature was the fifth race, tagged the Building Trades Purse, which was for Canadian-bred three-year-olds and over at one mile and a sixteenth. There was little to the running of this affair, which resulted in a front-running victory for Candy Feast, a two-time winner-at Thorncliffe Park. The C. Gallagher mare finished five lengths in advance of Masonville, with the, latter managing to stall off Frigid Frosty for the second place award. The warm sun of the past twenty-four hours transformed the track on the fast side and a large gathering was on hand to witness the entertainment offered. After a delay of several minutes, owing to the bad post manners of Masonville and Evening Judge, starter Tom Clark sent the field on its way in good order and it was Candy Feast that took up the task of pacemaking. Under a steady ride by McDougall, the Candy Kid mare took command going to the first turn, with Masonville following in closest pursuit. Making the turn out of the back stretch Candy Feast increased his advantage to two and one-half lengths oyer Masonville, and it was apparent at that stage of the journey that the Gallagher mare was to be the winner, as McDougall still re--tained "a. steady hold on his mount. In the run home Candy Feast drew away and at the end was five lengths in the van of Masonville.
