EASY FOR SCOTTYS PRIDE Shop Racer at Home in Muddy Footing at Beulah Park Dead Heat in First. COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 11. N. E. Shops Scottys Pride, steadily improving her position, overhauled Ealcona, the pacemaker, midway in the stretch and eventually drew away to an easy victory in the Four Roses Purse, fifth and featured offering, at Beulah Park this afternoon. Ealcona was an easy second, and Oswego Princess just saved third by a head from Mohawk Cherokee. Miss Jean Gottren made the presentation of the Four Roses trophy to J. Graham, trainer of Scottys Pride, after the race. The racing was staged over a muddy track but otherwise conditions were favorable and a fair crowd attended. It was Ladies Day. Sweepingly and Speedy Lulu reached the finish so closely lapped in the initial dash that even the camera failed to separate them. As a result a dead heat was declared after Speedy Lulu had gotten to the front when a sixteenth out. Pompous Peter only got up in the last j few -yards of the second race. Jolo was never in trouble in the third dash, and My Betty barely lasted to earn a head decision in the fourth event. Fight Back never left the result in doubt in the sixth race.
