EDDIES BROTHER, although racing wide most of the way, came very fast on the extreme outside in the stretch to hold GOLD STEP in a drive. The latter, probably best but in close quarters several times, found an opening near the end to finish fast and gamely. BAHADUR was going strongly at the end. SHINING JEWEL had speed, but tired as if a trifle short. PANATELA tired in the stretch. FLUKE was slow to start and was never dangerous. SEVENTH RACE 5 1-2 FUBLONGS. JOBIOSO, close up from the start, came gamely in the stretch to wear down ZANNY and win going away. ZANNY was off quickly and set a good pace but tired near the end and could not hold the winner. MINT BOX closed ground under urging. OLIN J. had speed in spots. CASSADA made a brief move near the stretch but was in close quarters. BESS COT met with early interference. SINGLE STOCKING was started from outside the gate. Overweight Mint Box, 2 pounds; Cassada, 3; Cloibeth, 2; Single Stocking, 4. : l -- 4
