The latter took command on the outside shortly after the break, maintained an early advantage under occasional pressure and held on well. WHATA QUESTION outrun for three-eighths and on the inside, closed with good courage. OUR PATTY, unable to keep up early, finished speedily. MISS RITZ failed to threaten POLANTE SETH and was through after a half mile. FLIGHT OF GOLD was racing well up when he stumbled and lost his rider. Overweight Ariaoha, 4 pounds. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE. The latter; ; never far back, moved up after three-eighths, made a strong challenge an eighth out and then tired. -TWO TRICKS, quick to start, showed the way for a half mile under slight pressure, but tired when called upon in the final quarter. SWAP finished gamely: on the outside. SAFE PORTE had speed for a half mile. PLAYAWAY had no mishaps. KAIRACK, jn close quarters on the turn, failed to improve his position when clear. GRIEF, though tiring near the end. The latter moved up with a rush on the inside on the turn and, responding to hard riding, was getting to the winner. EBONY BOY raced evenly. HAROLD H. came over sharply to take command in the first sixteenth, was taken under slight restraint while holding a good advantage, drew out in the final quarter without need of strong pressure and won easily. HOUR ZEV, prominent from the start and on the inside, finished gamely but was no match for the winner. TINSEL LADY, outrun for three-eighths, moved up between horses in the final eighth. GLAD WINGS, never far back, closed with good courage on the outside. STAR BESS, outrun early, closed well. CATNAP, well up and on the inside for a half mile, tired in the drive. The latter set a. fast pace: under steadying restraint, but tired in the final quarter. GOLD FLAG, ever far back and on the outside, tired when strongly shaken up in the closing stages. SEA TED, steadied while making the early pace, hung on Well under pressure to the final eighth and then tired. TONEY BOY forced the early pace under slight restraint, but failed to respond when put to strong pressure. EXPONENT tired in the final quarter. FIRST PIGEON had no mishaps. CORVUS set the pace under slight restraint, raced wide turning into the -stretch and finished gamely, but was not good enough. CRIMSON, Outrun early and on the inside, closed fast in the final quarter. BULLICIOSO tired.. ANKLETS and SPICSON were outrun. Corrected weight Whatway, 113.
