8 FAIRMOUNT PARK BOUGHT BY ST. LOUIS SYNDICATE - . 4 COLLINSVILLE, HI., June 11. Control of the Fairmount Park track here passed today from the hands of Robert S. Eddy, Joseph Cattarinich and Leo Dandurand to the American Turf Association and a syndicate headed by Robert E. Costello, East St. Louis attorney, as trustee. The latter declined to name the new owners, but said he would divulge the names of the syndicate Monday, also plans for a reorganization and race meeting, probably beginning on September 4. Fairmount Park was built by the American Turf Association and held its inaugural meeting in September, 1925. The American Turf Association operated the course until 1929, when it was taken over by Eddy and his partners. The Eddy combine staged annual meetings at the track until last year, when the gates of the track remained closed. The deed now on file in the Madison County Recorders office indicates that the track has been returned to the American Turf Association, with Costellos name also appearing on the deed. The consideration was approximately 5,000, which may have been due the American Turf Association from the first sale. Costello and his partners, from vhat could be learned, plan to operate the track.
