STRATEGIST II. IMPROVES Upsets Calculations at Agawam by Winning Feeding Hills Purse Race Marred by Fall. AGAWAM, Mass., June 11. Showing his best speed after turning in five dull performances, Strategist II., veteran son of Stratford and Vizcaya caused an upset in calculations when he accounted for the fifth and featured -Feeding Hills Purse, a test of six furlongs under claiming conditions, that was the best offering at Agawam Park today. Showing his speed over a racing strip that was churned into muddy condition from rains late Thursday, the Dan Hardy color-bearer at liberal odds scored in a drive over San Marino of the P. Schwartz Stable. They reached the line separated by one length. Third was accounted for by the consistent Bally Bay of the H. Kerr barn and it ended the winner streak of Royal Cunning, a triple winner, which was sixth in the running. The race was marred by the fall of Prevention soon after the start and the breaking down of Young Native, whose unfortunate mishap was costly to Mrs. J. A. Rydensky, who filed a claim of ,750 for the services of the Mrs. M. Colford sprinter. The Feeding Hills Purse was fifth on the program and the start found the ten sprinters away in good order, with San Marino being sent away by C. Dickey to show the way. Back of the Vito colt Bally Bay held second position, while Galon Boy and Strategist Il.-were before the others. Reaching the turn Young Native became an absentee and all of this time San Marino was setting a smart pace over the drying out track. Speculation in the tote was exceedingly brisk, Galon Boy receiving the bulk of the support.
