I DETROIT TURF NOTES I t Frank Gilpin arrived from Toronto with Tempestuous, Rosselli and Fez, which raced for Mrs. T. Stevenson, and Trauwina, which carries Mrs. Gilpins colors. Gilpin enjoyed a successful season here last spring when he was trainer for the late E. F. Seagram. ,J. R. Derden, -with Splurge and Fritzie; H. D. Wiant, with Lum Joy and Ace Fesseden, and H. W. Swinhoe with Smoky Mountain, comprised the shipment to reach here Friday morning fromOhia.,, Jerry Bronnenberg brought Odd Stir, Snoops, Red Prince, Deisel Age, May Rock, Odd Flash, Odd Glance, Miss Merlyn and one other from Beulah Park. C. C. Kranz Butch, Brilliant Stone, Rose K. and Chiefs Troubador were in the same car. C. W. Damon, trainer of J. B. Langs Elm Tree Stable, sent Blue Marque to Hartland Farm near Versailles, Ky., where she will be turned out until fall. The filly was injured in ,her last race at Keeneland and has not fully recovered. Trainer Damon also reports Colonel Markis and Nutrush have been returned to training and The Hose is suffering from bucked shins. Emmett Potts, head trainer of the Bomar Stable, arrived from Chicago, where he has one of the divisions. After saddling. Siam in the Pontchartrain Stakes, Potts will return to Washington Park. P. O. Anderson loaded his small stable and it departed for Suffolk Downs.
