I LAT0MA TURF NOTES I $ $ Following the close of the Latonia meeting Henry Forest will ship his entire group of racers to Thistle Downs. The outfit includes Swale, Fine Mint, Lady Greenock, Imperial Pal and a two-year-old. Emmerson F. Woodward, who is part owner of the Valdina Farms with Edward S. Barnhill, is due to arrive Saturday morning to witness Eagle Pass in his bid for the S15,-000 added Latonia Derby. The main division of the Valdina Farms is at Washington Park. Quick Getaway, a maiden juvenile colt in the Milky Way Farm stable, accompanied Reaping Reward and Military to Latonia and is scheduled to start in the, second race Saturday, a five furlongs sprint for maiden two-year-olds. B. B. Williams, trainer of the horses owned by Mrs. W. H. Furst, of Chicago, received a telegram from Samuel D. Riddle transferring the Latonia Derby nomination of Over the Top to the colts present owner. The nomination had been made when the son of Man o War was still the property of the master of Glen Riddle Farms. Hanley C. Ragan, prominent breeder and sportsman of Lexington, Ky., was an arrival and will remain for the running of the Latonia Derby. According to Elbert James, Eugenio Rodriguez, Cuban jockey under engagement to J. B. Respess, is recovering from an attack of malaria, which has been responsible for the boys inactivity. Rodriguez is hopeful of making his return next week.
