YANKEES DUE HERE TODAY Experts Predict Gate Will Exceed the Million Mark in Series Beginning Wednesday. NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 3. With the party composed of about ninety persons, the Yankees world series special left for Chicago today. The train will arrive at the Pennsylvania station, Chicago, Tuesday morning. The Yankees will work out at Wrigley Field Tuesday, although Manager McCarthy hadnt decided upon the time. The Yankees, with a chance of getting a new record by becoming the first team in history to win three straight world championships, again are the betting favorites to win the classic at odds of 1 to 2. Baseball experts predict the gate will pass the million mark. The first two games are scheduled for Chicago and the week-end games for the huge Yankee Stadium. It is expected that the series will play to capacity houses during these first four games, at least. Wrigley Fields capacity is around 40,000, with approximately 20,000 box seats, and the gate receipts there for each game is expected to total 00,000. Receipts at the Stadium for each game are expected to surpass that mark with 70,000 seats available. That the Cubs great surge has caught the fancy of the customers is reflected in the increased demand for seats here.
