V I RAMS DEFEAT OF LIONS BIGGEST UPSET OF PRO i FOOTBALL GAMES SUNDAY I 4 The Cleveland Rams overthrow of the favored Detroit Lions to the tune of 21 to 17 was the decided surprise and the biggest upset of Sundays professional football games. Over 8,000 watched the Rams playing their first game under Coach Art Lewis and stage an uphill battle with the climax in the final period when Corby Davis crashed through tackle from the three-yard line for a touchdown. The Chicago Bears crushed the Philadelphia Eagles 28 to 6. All four of their touchdowns were made by air, two on Ray Bui-vids passes and the others on intercepted pitches. A crowd of 22,000 saw the game. At Brooklyn the Dodgers scored their first success of the season in a 13 to 0 victory over the Chicago Cardinals. A crowd of 17,000 saw the Dodgers score twice in the second period to register. The Cardinals depended on passes to carry, on and though they completed fourteen out of thirty-four it was not enough.
