CAULIFLOWER EAR CLUB DAY Leading Sportsmen of St. Louis to Celebrate Wednesday at JFairmount Races Are Named for Members. COLL1NSVILLE, 111., Oct. 8. Probably the outstanding function of the current meeting is set for Wednesday at Faiimount Park when the Knights of the Cauliflower Ear, a club composed of the leading sportsmen of St. Louis, comes over to the track to celebrate a day named in its honor. A hundred or more members will be in attendance, coming early to have a special barbecue lunch in the clubhouse. The Knights will also have a private bar so they can mingle with their own crowd. Half of the clubhouse will be set aside for them. They will also have a special radio set up so they can hear the world series returns, which will start that day. Each of the races of that day will be named after outstanding members of the organization, with the feature event titled the Knights of the Cauliflower Ear. Gifts will be awarded to the winning jockeys and owners of the races that day. Following the program, the entire group will hold an evening party at the Hotel Coronado. Maurice Shevlin, sports editor of the Globe Democrat and one of the members of the organization, has helped in arranging the event. :
