REVERT TO OLD PRIZE BASIS Popular Demand Brings Change to 00 "Daily at Fairmount for Most Winners Selected. COLLINSVILLE, 111., Oct. 3. By popular demand of fans of thij vicinity, the patrons amateur handicapping contest at Fairmount Park for the final week of racing will revert to the old basis, awarding a cash prize of 00 to the fan picking the most winners each day. and ,000 on Saturday. Announcement to this effect was made last Sunday afternoon by general manager D. C. Burnett. For the last four days, the contest was conducted on a progressive basis making it necessary for a fan to pick seven straight winners to be awarded the daily 00. However, no one was able to pick seven straight and the prize accumulated until on Saturday it had reached ,500 which was won by Theodore Vaccaro of University City, Mo., by picking six winners. Vaccaro was tied with Robert Chappins of St. Louis after the seventh race, both having picked six winners. Vaccaros selection in the eighth race was Union which finished fifth by a nose oyer Chappins selection, Off Duty, which finished sixth.
