OUR DAVID took command gradually in the first five-sixteenths, was rated rpunding the turn under a snug hold, came away steadily under mild pressure in the stretch -and probably had little left. RICH CREAM, awav fast but unable to keep up, raced wide throughout, rallied in the stretch and, closing a. gap, overtook ALL FORLORN and BROAD LIGHTS in the final strides. BROAD LIGHTS had speed from the start, swerved out slightly when entering the stretch, later returned to the inside and faltered near the end. ALL FORLORN, well up after the first quarter, held on fairly well. CHINESE EMPRESS had speed under hustling, gave way suddenly soon after reaching the stretch and was held safe thereafter. LE MISERABLE, away fast and always clear as he was kept on the outside, was rated under a good hold to the final quarter, took command under a hand ride and loafed in the late stages, but lasted. ISOLENE took command quickly, was kept under steady reserve for three-quarters and failed to hold the winner in the stretch, yet fought it out gamely and barely missed getting up for what would have been a lucky win. FLYING BREEZE was quickly straightened away after breaking out at the start and, kept on the inside throughout, was eased back slightly when racing directly behind ISOLENE in the stretch and otherwise might have been a stronger factor at the end. RAIL DOWN, blocked on the second turn, came through on the inside in the stretch and continued well after coming out. WITTY LASS passed tired horses in the stretch. ORBEDLU lacked speed.
