The latter raced strongly in the early stages, moved up fast entering the stretch to take a brief lead, but faltered right at, the. end. IDYLLIC, a stout contender throughout, held on tenaciously to the finish. BUDS QUEEN, slow to gain full stride, improved her position on the outside and finished fastest. FLYING ORPHAN raced evenly. ROUGH BUDDY was used up in the first five-eighths. PASSE PARTOUT raced well. JOLLY DUCHESS flattened out after going three-eighths. CANROSE broke from outside of- the stalls. GOOD CHANCE, saved back of the pacemaker for the first mile arid a half, responded strongly while fencing nicely to take the lead at the twelfth fence, then was in hand as he drew clear at the end. BUCK LANGHORNE, jumping well from the start, was rated for a turn of the field, went to the winner stoutly at the twelfth fence, but was held perfectly safe in the closing drive. THE HOUR opened up a long lead in the first mile, showed good ability at his fences, biit tired after a mile and a half. CHATABIT raced forwardly from the start and closed gamely after swerving toward the inside entering the stretch. MINISTRESS swung to the outside when in stride and closed with good energy.. FESTIVITIES, . beginning slowly, circled her field and finished with a rush. DINAMITA raced well while in close quarters on the inside. READY-ABOUT tired after going five-eighths. ABBOTS LARK was forced wide. DISTORT tired badlv. MIRIFIC was ridden hard, but was not good enough. The others were outrun. SUN PLUME, breaking slower than usual, was hurried to reach his field and closed with good coiirage, THE SERF, lacking early speed, settled in stride and closed with good energy on the outside. MERRY GESTURE, prominent early, tired after making a strong bid midway of the turn SLAVE CHARM was strong ridden and had no mishaps. CHERACHIN tired after going a half mile. SIS LOTTIE was outrun. The latter trailed his field through the back stretch, raced up rapidly to enter contention on the final turn, swung wide entering the stretch, then closed strongly when straightened out. BOLD STROKE met with interference going to the first tuni, worked way forward between horses, then finished gamely on the inside in the drive. SUN ALEXANDRIA was rushed off his feet to encage the pacemaker and had nothing left when the real test came. BLINI raced evenly. BROWN KNIGHT saved ground, but could not threaten.
