CHANCEFUL, a strong factor from the start, was steadied along for five-eighths, came fast when put to strong urging, wore down CUP DEFENDER when inside the final eighth, but tired rapidly in the last stages and just lasted. CUP DEFENDER, hustled into a good early lead, set a good pace, gave way to the winner, but came again in the last strides and just failed to reverse the finish. CHATTER WRACK, outrun for five-eighths, closed determinedly. HINDU PRINCESS came from well back. PAKALA, made up ground. BREVARD was done after five-eighths. RESPHA showed a dull effort. LENA J., going in her best form and reserved early, moved up swiftly when called upon, wore down BANK ME when inside the final eighth and outfinished THISTLE RED. The latter dropped back after a fast beginning, was outrun for three-quarters, came to the inside for the drive, was forced to the outside of the winner after reaching the final forty yards and finished fastest. GUNWALE, shuffled back after five-sixteenths, came again when clear and held on well. BANK ME, used up in reaching the lead while racing wide, tired steadily after a mile. PERSUADER made up ground. LAC-HA-CAROLYN came from well back. SMITH DAVID, used up in the pace, tired under pressure. FRANCES LOU was done after five-eighths. Scratched 65791 Duckle Rose, 102. ETHELS CHOICE worked her way forward steadily, was unable to menace the winner, but finished strongly. CARRYING TIME lost ground early, came to the inside for the drive and held on well. INSTEAD raced wide after a quarter and tired near the end. CHESTER ROSE was outrun. GOLD PUBLICITY was done after a half mile. MYSTIC SIGN was outrun. DONA NUTTER showed nothing. MISS BONNIE, possibly best, was repeatedly interfered with by the winner and came again after being forced extremely wide entering the stretch. PAUL T;, hustled along from the start, set a eood pace, bore out badly entering the final quarter, came fast when straight, was gaining on the winner at the end, but was disqualified for a foul. KIEVS PENNANT saved ground for a mile and a quarter, finished strongly and placed second when PAUL T. was set back. SON RICHARD came from well back. SPANISH ART tired. ALBESS was shuffled back when PAUL T. raced wide. BECKVILLE was done after a mile.
