DISSEMBLER, saved off the early pace, secured racing room on the inside to reach the leaders, came through on the inside of MR. GRUNDY and withstood a stout drive to get up nearing the end. MR. GRUNDY raced VASSAR into defeat in the first seven-eighths, could not get clear and tired right at the end. KINROSS, outrun for three-quarters, moved up steadily when shaken up and closed gamelv on the inside. CHIMNEY TOP fell back rounding the final turn, then came again while racing wide. MONUMENT would not extend himself in the early racing, was placed to punishment and finished stoutly. VASSAR was used up forcing the early pace. ICY WIND had no mishaps. LOVICK tired. GRAVILLA, under steadying restraint for the first mile and racing on the inside, went to the outside when makiqg her run, displaced the leaders without effort and had something in reserve at the close. SIR REG was steadied in front, shook off stout bids from BABY TALK, but could not stay with the winner when placed to a drive. WHICHAWAY was kept within striking distance of the leaders and closed willingly in the final test. BABY TALK was rated nicely, made strong bids in the last half mile, but faltered. EXPLODED, away well but lacking early speed, moved forward midway of the back stretch, responded strongly in thc closing drive and wore down CHIEF ONAWAY. but had to bo vigorously urged to the finish. CHIEF ONAWAY was rated in front, shook off GUYENCOURT and BIG PEBBLE and came again nearing the end after being overhauled. TIME SHEET was pinched off right at thc start, was hurried into a I contending position when reaching the back stretch, made a weak bid nearing the final turn, then tired. BIG PEBBLE was prominent until reaching the stretch, then tired under punishment after saving much ground. AIR WIN was never dangerous. DUST TO DUST was never a threat. CHALLEDON, outrun for the first half mile, responded stoutly when shaken up for the closing drive, secured racing room on the inside of the leaders in the last eighth and finished strongly to get ud in the closing strides. WAR MOON was a stout contender in the early racing, moved up fast to engage MYSTERY MISS, assumed a short lead inside thc final eighth, but failed to stave off the winner. MYSTERY MISS had good speed to race BALKAN WAR into submission, was hard urged and continued gamely to the finish. BALKAN WAR forced a swift early pace, but tired after reaching the stretch. FAIR ROCK closed stoutly from a slow beginning. LICKETYSPLIT showed her early flash of speed, then tired. HARDY JIM saved ground, but could not threaten. XANTHEIN was outrun. OF COURSE quit. WAR STREAK stood flatr footed when the break came and was awav poorly after being started from outside the gate. JACOLA, rated in near pursuit of thc leaders, raced to the front with a rush midway of the final turn, drew clear when reaching the stretch, rallied to pressure and came out smartly nearing the finish. SEABISCUIT, forced to race on the outside for racing room to better his position in the first seven-eighths, saved ground entering the stretch, responded to punishment, but could not reach the winner. THE CHIEF fell back suddenly midway of the back stretch when caught in tight quarters, swung to the outside and finished with excellent courage. ANEROID was ridden hard to keep pace with FINANCE and he tired in the last five-sixteenths. GREY GOLD, beginning slowly, worked his way forward steadily and was going gamely at the finish. ACCOLADE raced on thc outside of thc leaders and was a strong contender for seven-eighths before tiring. MR. CANRON was away slowly and could hot menace. BUSY K. was never a factor.; NEDAYR raced in very tight quarters most of thc trip. LAVENGRO raced in close pursuit of BENJAM, gained a short lead in the? last eighth when placed to punishment, but could not withstand the winner. BENJAM showed a lot of speed, saved ground, but tired 1 fast in thc last eighth. INFIDOX could not reach the leaders, but showed a good effort. WHITE COCKADE was a strong contender for the first five-eighths, then tired while losing ground in the late stages. BILLIONAIRE and MOSAWTRE were never dangerous.
