GEN. MARSHALLS NEW POST WASHINGTON, D. C, Oct. 15 Brigadier General Geo. C. Marshall, who has been as-, distant chief of staff of the War Plans Division, Army General Staff, today was appointed deputy chief of staff, second highest military post in the nation. Gen. Marshall succeeds Major Gen. Stanley B. Embick, who recently finished his four-year tour of duty as deputy chief, and has been made commanding general of the Fourth Corps Area, with headquarters in Atlanta.
