POLICEMEN BEGIN CLASSES Seventy-five policemen from various cities of the United States will begin classes today at the Northwestern University Traffic In-j stitute to learn scientific methods of street traffic control and accident prevention. The purpose of the courses is to give police officers intensive training in planning and applying effective methods of traffic control and in teaching their fellow officers in such work. These men, the first of 225 policemen who will take the various short courses offered at the university during the 1938-39 academic year, will constitute the largest enrollment since the institute was founded in 1933. More than 1,000 police officers have attended such institutions in the last five years.
