The latter, never far back and in hand for about three-eighths, saved ground, responded to strong urging in the drive, but could not get up. CORVUS, never far back, was hard ridden after three-eighths and held on well. OTTERROP, slow to begin, made up ground after three-sixteenths. TAXIMAN was slow to settle into stride and cpuld not threaten. EP raced wide all the way. POLANTE SETH quit after five-eighths. The latter, well up and on the inside from the beginning, was under pressure after three-eighths and held on stubbornly, but was not good enough. FOB, slow to begin, moved up steadily after a quarter and closed gamely. GRAY ETHEL, also outrun early, mad up ground after five-eighths under vigorous handling. SEVEN UP tired. OAKWOODS LAD gave way after three-eighths. STROLLING HIGH raced wide. MURIELLYNN was outrun throughout. YES POLLY made the pace after LOWRY ran out, was rated well for a mile and a quarter and then tired under pressure. JAY BIRD, in hand for a mile, moved up thereafter and then tired in the last quarter. HIGH MAN tired after a mile. STRATAGEM had no mishaps. FANDAN failed to respond to urging after a mile.
