FAffiMOUNT PARK SMf to Jjockey Dew Gains First Prominence as a Saddle Artist. "Butsey" Hernandez Again Carries Off the Money-Winning Honors Fairflax Heada Equine Performers With ,000. Fairmount Park went along on the even tenor of its ways during its fall meeting of twenty-nine days from September 3 to October 8, the session being only moderately successful. The jockey club gave away 31,700 in prizes for a daily average of ,541.38. Twenty-eight per cent of the favorites gave joy to their backers by coming home first and odds-on winners did even better, only one out of the four short-priced choices failing to live up to expectations. Its an old story for "Butsey" Hernandez to walk away with the largest slice of Fair-mount Park prize money. This time he took ,225, with Fairflax chief gleaner among the equine contenders. Jockey E. Dew gained his first prominence as a saddle artist by winning thirty-twef races for a percentage of .18. Hernandez saddled the most winners among the trainers.
