WAR ADMIRAL BEGINS TRAINING LAUREL, Md., Oct. 15. Samuel D. Riddles ace handicap performer, War Admiral, began his training for his match race with Seabiscuit at Pimlico on November 1, opening day of the Maryland Jockey Club meeting, when he was brought on the track Saturday morning and worked one mile in 1:42. With Jockey Charles Kurtsinger, his regular rider in the saddle, the four-year-old son of Man o War Brush Up clipped off the following fractions: :23, :35, :48, 1:01, 1:15, and was in hand as he passed the mile marker. According to observers the Riddle colt accomplished his move in easy style and cooled out to the satisfaction of his trainer, George Conway, who watched the colts every stride. War Admirals opponent, Seabiscuit had a public outing at Laurel when he performed in the ,500 added Laurel Stakes.
