FATAL GRANARY FIRE AT j SOUTH CHICAGO ---A Nine persons were burned to death and approximately eighteen were injured in a fire that destroyed five huge grain elevators at 102d Street and the Calumet River today. About 3,000,000 bushels of grain, mostly - corn, with some wheat, oats and soy beans, were destroyed, with a loss estimated at ,000,000. - The disaster, which started with a flashing explosion, was the worst since the second Stockyards Fire, in 1934.
