IMPRUDENT STARTER TODAY Will Defend Her Claim as the Best Juvenile Seen in Maryland in the Pimlico Nursery Stakes. BALTIMORE, Md., May 11.— Imprudent will defend her position as the best two-year-old seen in Maryland this spring in the Pimlico Nurseiy Stakes at the Maryland Jockey Club course here tomorrow against a half-dozen other youngsters of some claim to speed. The Pimlico Nursery is a dash of five furlongs with a ,000 purse and with no withdrawals the event will have a net value of ,920. It will mark the first time juveniles are asked to run as far in this section. The E. K. Bryson filly, winner of seven of her eight starts, including the Masquer-ader Stakes here, the Aberdeen at Havre de Grace and the Lafayette Handicap at New Orleans, will be coupled, with Jouett Shouses Arden Lass and the entry likely will be held at odds-on. As the Pimlico Nursery candidates will carry scale weight, Imprudent will not have to make allowances to any of her opponents, of which Cockerel, Wake Robin and Engles Charm are colts. Of the other fillies, Sally Pass By, owned by Houghton P. Metcalf , has accounted for her only two starts, and Alfred Vanderbilts Now What will be making her first start. The daughter of Chance Play and Thats That has worked smartly and may prove dangerous. Wake Robin is a member of the Greentree Stable division shipped here from New York and won his last start, which was at Keene-land. Engles Charm, owned by J. T. Engle, and Arden Lass both are non-winners, but have had experience and may welcome the longer distance of tomorrows event. As threatening weather prevailed today, the chances for a fast track for the Nursery running were not bright, but in the case of Imprudent at least a change in the going will make very little difference.
