GOLD SATIN IN SURPRISE WIN Romps to Five-Length Score Over C-Note in Mobile Oil Purse at Beulah Park. GROVE CITY, Ohio, May 11.— When Mrs. M. M. Johrs Gold Satin romped home to a most decisive victory in the Mobile Oil Purse, featured event this afternoon, she provided one of the most outstanding surprises of the Beulah Park meeting. C-Note raced to second place, five lengths away, with Whistling Dick. third. The odds-on favorite, Zevson, finishing with a a belated rush to earn fourth place. Ladfield, C-Note and Gold Satin raced closely lapped to the far turn, but at this point, Gold Satin forged to the front and drew away decisively through the stretch. C-Note was hard pressed at the end to stall off Whistling Dick, which came from far back. Zevson was never formidable. A cool breeze swept over the course, but otherwise weather conditions were ideal. The largest crowd of the week journeyed t6 the track to witness the racing. Betnabar and Fair- Lajune both led throughout in their respective races, the former scoring with much to spare. Oddesa "Billy and Grasswrack each raced into the lead entering the stretch in their races and drew out through the final furlong to handy victories. -— ■
