1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES | — : ® Smith G. Baker is endeavoring to obtain a lease on the services of apprentice Hayden Dupuy for the impending meeting at North Randall. Baker will transfer all of the horses he has at Churchill Downs to the Cleveland track after the close here. Although Warren Yarberry failed to make plane connections in Baltimore, the Joseph E. Widener rider arrived in time to don silks here Thursday afternoon. Seth Bastin, agent for the stable of Mrs. R. Ji Murphy, put in his appearance at the track Thursday morning after having been confined to his apartment with an attack of influenza. George W. Dunn, whose charges preceded him here from Beulah Park a few days ago, was an arrival from Columbus, Ohio, Thursday morning. In addition to My Feng, he is conditioning two for Woodcock and King. Jockey H. Lindberg departed for Detroit, where he will vacation until the opening of that meeting. Topped by Black Brummel and including eleven others, the C. H. Ferguson stable will get away for Detroit next week. George Oros, younger brother of J. E. Oros, Americas leading rider, will do the light weight riding for the Oros stable during the Detroit season. His father, John Oros, will ship seven head to the Fair Grounds course next Monday. Dunn and Knickerbockers Queens Advice, which suffered bucked shins in her last race at Keeneland. has been returned to training and will be included in the stable Tommy Root is taking from here to Lincoln Fields. Norman J. LeBlanc, former jockey, who is conditioning a public stable, has taken over the two-year-old colt Air Vent to train for H. Wittington. The five horses that W. E. "Doc" Coburn has at Churchill Downs for Conn Smythe will be shipped to Toronto Sunday for campaigning at Woodbine. They are Shoeless Joe, Skating Fool, Skating Mad, Sir Marlboro and Indignant. The horses of R. L. Stivers and B. W. Stivers will be returned to Lexington after the close of the Churchill Downs meeting and will be rested until the mid-summer session at Latonia. t
