LINCOLN FIELDS STAKE EVENTS Entries for Eleven Fixtures Heaviest in a Number of Years and Most Gratifying to Management. Nominations for the eleven stakes, to be run during the twenty-seven-day meeting of the Lincoln Fields Jockey-Club, have not yet been compiled, but it was announced today that they are the heaviest in some years. Subscriptions, which closed last Wednesday, were made in numbers most gratifying to officials of the Crete track, and they include the names of many top-notch performers. The nominations are to be made public some time next week. The first issue of the book of conditions is off the press and today they were being I distributed from the local offices of the track. Hundreds of them were shipped to Louisville, from which point many stables are coming, and copies also were mailed to other points from which Lincoln Fields expect to draw thoroughbreds. C. Bruce Head, # general manager, has made several trips here from Louisville to keep in motion preparations for the opening of the Chicago racing season, and he will be here again this week-end. He reports a lively interest in the return of the sport to this city and he confidently expects Lincoln Fields to have one of its biggest seasons in years. Track superintendent Tom Young, who is dividing his time between here and Churchill Downs, says that stables already are beginning to arrive and the numerous applications he has received for stalls assures plenty of horses of quality.
