OWNERS OF DRUGGED | HORSES AUTOMATICALLY i 1 DEPRIVED OF PURSES j The Illinois Racing Commission took further action to safeguard the public at its last meeting when it adopted a new rule which automatically deprives an owner of any purse money won by a horse found to have been stimulated. Coming on top of the recent adoption of the urinanlyses test in conjunction with the saliva test, there will be no profit in the use of forbidden drugs by owners and trainers. They will lose all prize money won. The new rule adopted is as follows: "Rule 246 C. It is provided, further, that the owner of a horse that is stimulated or an entry of which such horse is a part, shall be denied any part of the purse, and the purse shall be distributed as in the case of a disqualification."
