DALADIER ATTEMPTS TO RECONCILE POSSIBLE ALLIES PARIS, France, May 16. — Premier Edouard Daladier, of France, will attempt to reconcile .the divergent British and Soviet views regarding Soviet inclusion in the European anti-aggression front when he confers on Saturday with British Foreign Secretary Lord Halifax, it was reported today. Under the French-sponsored plan, it was said the Soviets would promise to aid the British and French should they go to war to protect Poland or Rumania,, while the Anglo-French entente would pledge aid to the U. S. S. R. in the event Russia took up arms tq defend her Baltic neighbors against aggression. French political circles expressed belief today that a Franco-Turkish agreement will shortly be reached enabling extension of the Anglo-Turkish defensive agreement to include France. A hitch in the negotiations between Paris and Ankara developed last week owing to a disagreement over the San-jak of Alexandretta. This question now is said to have been* settled satisfactorily. According to official quarters, France has agreed to give Turkey sovereignty over the Sanjak, which is situated in the northern section of French-mandated Syria.
