. ; CALL-OVER OF EPSOM DERBY Blue Peter Remains the Favorite — Hypnotist, American-Bred and Owned, Is Second Choice. LONDON, England, May 16.— At the call-over of the Derby card at the Victoria Club here last night, Lord Roseberys Blue Peter remained a firm choice at odds of 7 to 2 to win the premier classic, set for decision at Epsom, May 24. Hypnotist, owned and bred by the American, William Woodward, was well supported in the ante-post betting, becoming a clear-cut second choice at odds of 9 to 1. Sir John Jarvis Admirals Walk, which had previously shared the honors of second choice, since he was runner-up to his stablemate, Blue Peter, in the Two Thousand Guineas, was a receder in the betting, to odds of 12 to 1. A half point longer odds was offered and taken on Lord Daltons Chester Vase winner, Heliopolis. Coupled on the 100 to 7 odds mark, with plenty of action for both, were Sir Abe Baileys Newmarket Stakes winner, Fair-stone, and William Barnetts Triguero, while Edward Esmonds Fox Cub was in good demand at odds of 100 to 6. BUXTON BACKED. Also strongly befriended was H. Sidebot-toms Buxton, 22 to 1, while a three-point longer rate was offered and accepted about Hypnotists stablemate, Lady Zia Wernhers Casanova. The French-owned, -bred and -trained invader, Princess Faucigny — Lu-cinges Romeo II. had admirers at odds of 28 to 1. Others inquired after were the American sportswoman, Mrs. James Corrigans Signal Light, the Aga Khans Dhoti, M. M. Goud-chaux! Hastings, Sir George Bullough2 Vesperian, and W. Barnetts Wheatland at odds of 33 to 1, while there was a little support for Sir Abe Baileys Meadow and S. Vlastos Diadoque at odds of 4 to 1, with a five-point longer rate " noted about the French-owned, -bred and -trained Leon Vol-tenas Atout Maitre, with long odds of 50 to 1 taken to a couple of small wagers about Robert McAlpins Maunakea. A final acceptance for the Derby stakes will be declared tomorrow, when it is expected the largest field in recent years will be named.
