DOUBLE FOR JOCKEY KEIPER Pilots Apropos to Victory in Columbus Zoo Purse for His Second Triumph at Beulah. COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 16— Securing an opening near the turn for home, W. E. Harneds Apropos took command and event-ually registered a handy victory, her second I of the Beulah Park meeting, when she captured the Columbus Zoo Purse, featured offering this afternoon. Incidentally it marked a double for the apprentice rider P. Keiper, who now leads the winning riders list here by a wide margin. Earl Sortman presented the trophy to Mr. Harned at the conclusion of the race, in which Col. Hatfield and Jack Greenock divided the minor awards, finishing heads apart. Rain threatened at intervals but failed to visit the course and the sport was staged under favorable conditions. The attendance was of average proportions for an off day. J. E. Sargents Rail Down registered her third success of the meeting when she disposed of her opposition through the stretch test of the fifth race, winning with much to spare. Oddesa Nancy and Hi Ben led for most of the trip in their respective races but the latter was doing his best to stall off Belle-dare. Shan only annexed the initial dash in a tight finish but Glimmerlee scored by a more comfortable margin after coming from behind in the stretch. Francesco, owned by John Galbraith, Columbus, Ohio, sportsman, went a handy mile between races this afternoon in preparation for the ,500 Governors Handicap to be run here Saturday. He ran the distance in 1:41%, finishing well in hand.
