WITAN took command under energetic riding, was taken in hand on the turn and tired after coming away in the stretch, but lasted. SOLAR HAWK, well up from the start and saving much ground, secured room on the inside entering the stretch, came out in the final eighth and, closing resolutley under strong riding, was wearing down the winner. TRANSFUN failed to rally to light urging in the early stages, but responded in the last three-sixteenths and finished fast after closing ground. JUST BUCK raced wide the final half mile and held on well. JACK W. quit and pulled up sore. HINDU PRINCESS began slowly, as did* DUCAH. ADA W. quit. WHIM WHAM, away fast and favored by excellent racing luck, was on the inside throughout, gamely stood off STORCKY in an extended drive, but was tiring badly at the end, STORCKY, also away fast and always clear, was under a light hold for three-eighths and held on well under vigorous urging thereafter but could not get up. DEWY DAWN, away slowly and forced to lose much ground, had little chance until the final thrcc-bixtecnths, where she closed smartly in a fine effort. WINKLE, away slowly, moved up with a rush when clear, was under vigorous urging the final quarter and tired in the late stages. NIGHT LADY, crowded back early, raced well. SUN LARK quit under pressure. REALITY was near the middle of the track throughout, dropped back suddenly on the turn and was not dangerous thereafter. ESCOHIGH, a sharp factor from the start, took command while saving ground on the turn, was lightly roused soon after entering the stretch and, continuing well, was taken in hand in the last sixteenth. DUNVEGAN, away slowly and raced wide throughout, bettered his position gradually and held on with determination to the end. MALEMAN had speed from the start, was under stout urging after reaching the last five-sixteenths and faltered suddenly i.ear the end, but held BACON safe. The latter received an energetic ride, failed to stay with the leaders after reaching the turn, swerved in the stretch and pulled up lame. UPSLALA was held safe. STRINGALONG began well, but failed to keep up. MALMAISON, away slowly, made an attempt to wheel soon after the start and, taken up, had no chance thereafter. Corrected weight — Maleman. 119. AT POST— 5 minutes. _ Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. . . SHAKERTOWN, sent into command with a rush, received a short breathing spell rounding the stretch turn and, strongly urged thereafter, held BROWN MOSS safe, but had little left. The latter, away fast but unable to hold the advantage, started to move up on the stretch turn and closed well under strong urging, but could not get to the winner. FILIPINO VALET, rank en route to and at the post, raced wide from a slow beginning and, closing resolutely, wore down TOAST in the last eighth. The latter was a prominent factor from the start, met light interference in the stretch and tired in the closing stages. CITY BOY began slowly. MANINTHEMOON tired badly. MY MOMMY was in close quarters early. OUR REIGH, away slowly and lucky, was kept on the inside while outrun early, continued to save ground when coming with good belated speed thereafter, got to the front in the last sixteenth and drew clear in the closing strides. GINOCCHIO, forced to race wide and a strong factor from the start, suffered interference from CANDESCENT in the stretch, but fought it out stubbornly and disposed of CANDESCENTi in the last fifty yards. The latter had speed from the start, was in hand for a half mile, swerved out entering the stretch and hung on well to the last sixteenth, where she tired. GREY STREAK was buffeted about early, did not keep up on the turn, yet closed well to show a good effort. CHEROVAN raced wide the final half mile, made a bid in the stretch, but hung in the last sixteenth. ROYAL BLUE had early speed. Overweight — Candescent, 1 pound ; Commission, 2. JONNIE NUCHOLS secured room between horses in the early stages, moved up while still strongly restrained approaching the second turn, easily wore down the leaders when straightened in the stretch and won handily. HERMOSILLO followed the pace under restraint to the final quarter and hung on with determination in the drive, but could not withstand the winner. LIFE GUARD took command easily, was shaken up on the second turn and gave way under increased pressure in the stretch, but withstood LATER ONS rush. The latter closed a gap in the stretch. SORTIES SON, well placed from the start, did not respond to urging and pulled up lame. CHENAULT was Quitting badly when imoeded in the stretch. Scratched— 68606 Mt. SIR MIDAS, reserved off the pace under snug restraint, came to the outside in the stretch, swerved over slightly in the drive and got up in the last fifty yards. MAYRO alternated in the pacemaking under stout reserve, was weakly handled in the stretch, yet held on well. CHALPHONE, probably best and allowed to remain out of the principal contention until the final quarter, was responding strongly when crowded back entering the final eighth, came, again, but again lacked room in the last fifty yards and, •with better luck, might have been a decisive winner. DISTILLATION was under steady restraint for three-quarters and held on well to the last eighth, where she gave way slowly. JEFFERSONTOWN saved much ground, but was held safe. LINA MAC was outrun. STANISLAUS, well up from the beginning and in hand for three-quarters, was vigorously handled thereafter, took command an eighth out and held on fairly well, but could not stall off the winner. SPRINGMEYER. in close quarters at the start, saved ground and, hard ridden in the final quarter, closed gamely. QUEENIE WING lacked early speed, began to improve her position after a half mile and held on fairly well in the drive. PARKWOOD CHIEF raced wide and held on fairly well. CATALONIA failed to rally when called upon after three-quarters. CORN FIELD broke to the inside and, in motion, had good speed for seven-eighths, then tired.
