GENTLEMANS CUP RACE LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 16.— If enough amateur horsemen are willing to take part in it, a gentlemans "cup race" will be presented at Churchill Downs on Friday. Before he left for Chicago, Col. Matt J. Winn, head of the track, said the Downs would stage another of these popular affairs if a field of six or more entries could be secured. Horsemen here are willing to co-operate by making their horses available for such a contest, and it only remains for the amateur reinsmen of this vicinity to signify their willingness to accept mounts to make the feature a reality. The race is to be contested at six furlongs and is to be presented as the seventh event on Fridays card. Some of those who have taken part in previous "cup races" at Churchill Downs are Baylor Hickman, Byron Hilliard, Joe Jacobson, Earl Major and Scoggan Jones.
