1 AK-SAR-BEN TURF NOTES | $ — i Dr. F. W. Cairy, the veteran horseman and veterinarian of Sioux City, Iowa, was one of the early arrivals at Ak-Sar-Ben field this year, giving his horses a good rest for the opening on May 27. He has Short Skirt, Hook It, Bee Aye Cee, and the two-year-olds Jocks Louise and Anna Bubbling. Of course, that old favorite of the Nebraska-breds, Prairie King, is still with "Doc," who would feel lost without him. A. L. Birch has the following horses at Ak-Sar-Ben in charge of T. E. Loomis: Trans Wynn, Light Zephyr, Sergeant Buck, La Ree, Dolly Cross and Glosstig, the last four being two-year-olds. James Eckrosh, of Des Moines, arrived at Ak-Sar-Ben this week with Texline, Arladale, March Step, Nigrescent and Princeton. Among the early arrivals from Texas at Ak-Sar-Ben field was C. N. Brewer, of Pampa, Texas, with Cornelia Powell, Wee didit, Blojos, Mount Lookout, Prince Peacock and Say Little. Among the largest of Nebraska stables to race at Ak-Sar-Ben is that of J. W. and C. W. Cooper, of Imperial. They are here with twelve head, including Miss Kiev, Kieva Girl, Usickle, Gray Dust, Luteen, George K. and the Nebraska-breds Silver Banquet, Don Banquet, Dark Day, Hope Banquet and Villa Banquet.
