Gilbert to Ride Bed o Roses GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 27. Jockey Johnny Gilbert has been engaged to handle Alfred G. Vanderbilts Bed o Roses in her engagement Saturday in the Rancocas Stakes at Garden State Park. Ovie Scurlock has been engaged to ride another Vanderbilt colorbearer, First Glance, in Mondays renewal of the William Penn Stakes. Both Bed o Roses and First Glance have been racing in New York. " Bed o Roses latest score was achieved on Wednesday when she accounted for the filly division of the National Stallion Stakes at Belmont Park.
