B. Young; bred by Fred B. Koontz. WENT TO POST 4:58. OFF AT 4:59 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. LAMBENT, outrun to the stretch, lost ground at the final turn and, responding well after straightened for the drive, wore down the leaders, then held LOVELY NYMPH safe. The latter raced evenly to the stretch, was sent between horses for the drive and, closing strongly, was getting to the winner at the finish. KOSADUS lacked early speed, saved ground when sent to the inside for the stretch run and closed determinedly in a sharp effort. NITROMOND assumed command at once, made the pace to the last sixteenth, then faltered. WATCH SUSAN, outrun to the final quarter, finished fast under brisk urging. MR. TUCK began sluggishly. DAINTY MAID tired after racing well to the stretch. SKY HEELS held on well to the last eighth, then gave way. CONNIES BOY tired after engaging NITROMOND to the stretch. VOLUNTEER was done early. CHOCK ABLOCK, far back and outrun to the stretch, moved up fast to take command when shaken up, then drew clear without need of urging. REDGIE, never far back, responded readily when hard ridden through the stretch, but could not menace the winner. EUGENE, outrun early, reached the lead between calls after leaving the backstretch, but could not retain the advantage while under brisk urging. WESTY STREAK tired after engaging PENNSTOWN to the upper turn. POLLY W., rank during the post parade and at the gate, raced wide throughout. PENNSTOWN went to the front at the start, was drifting out when tiring after going five-eighths and tired badly after TRANQUIL TIDE struck his heels. BEAU FORTUNE raced evenly" to the stretch, took command when settled for the drive and, responding to strong handling, lasted to withstand NIGHT TOUR. The latter, never far back, moved up strongly during the stretch run, swerved under punishment in the last sixteenth and, causing a jam, could not overtake the winner, but was disqualified for fouling and placed last CATNIP HILL, outrun to the stretch, was sent between horses during the drive and closed with a rush. PAPPYS PRIDE began slowly, but finished strongly despite suffering interference near the sixteenth pole. LEA FLAG lacked early speed and could not reach the leaders, but was awarded fourth money, despite being coupled with NIGHT TOUR, who was disqualified and placed last. SUGAR LUMP was never dangerous. ROYAL CHANCE gave way after racing well until inside the stretch. LATE BREEZE was far back throughout. SHOUT ABOUT quit after displaying early speed. Overweight Shout About, 3 pounds. Pappys Pride claimed by J. A. Kinard. Beau Fortune claimed by Mrs. L. Wolf. Attendance 7,859; Total Mutuel Pool, 27,084.
