Central Division of HBPA To Hold Election Tuesday WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., May 27. An election of officers to govern the Central division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association during 1949 will be held Tuesday, according to secretary-treasurer George Nugent. Ballots will be accepted from 9 a. m. until 4 p. m. Tuesday at the racing secretarys office at this track. At a meeting held in Chicago Heights, 111., Wednesday, Nugent disclosed that the candidates nominated for vice -presidency of the Central division of the HBPA are Lawrence H. Thompson, Howard Hoffman and Al Gaal. Named on the committee to serve at the coming election are R. Conino, Howard Hoffman and B. W. Opperman. Ten of 25 horsemen members of the organization selected at the meeting on Wednesday will be appointed by ballot to serve as a committee during the 1949 season.
