SONS TWINKLE raced evenly to the stretch, was sent to the inside for the drive and wore down SUES SPECIAL in the last sixteenth. SUES SPECIAL went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong, then faltered and could not withstand the winner. STICKTOME engaged SUES SPECIAL to the last furlong, then weakened. TOLECA raced evenly without mishap. SALIGNAC was outrun. CAN STEP was never dangerous. LITTLE APPLE tired. SKY TRAIN began sluggishly. MOR-LADY was far back throughout. JOLIE BLARNEY raced wide. LEADING MAN went to the front early, held a clear lead entering the stretch, but was hard ridden thereafter to withstand STROLLING MOON. The latter, a sharp factor from the beginning, closed determinedly under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. WHAT A DAY, on the outside throughout, could not better his position when set down in the drive. VIXEN ROSE lacked early speed, but finished well. SIR ROYCE, far back to the stretch, was unable to reach serious contention when set down in the drive. BIG MUDDY was outrun. MISS CRANBERRY failed to stay after displaying brief speed. The latter, forwardly placed from the beginning, made a good bid entering the stretch, but was unable to reach the winner. GOMEL raced evenly to the stretch, then finished strongly. HIMMELEE was outrun. JIMMIE raced well to the stretch, then faltered. SPRING THAW made the pace for three-eighths, then gave way. LUCKY M. never entered serious contention. CROSS WAVE raced evenly to the stretch, was sent bewteen horses at the final turn and wore down SWEEP BOLT during the final furlong. SWEEP BOLT went to the front at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then drifted out and could not withstand the winner. KOPES TOY raced wide to .the upper turn, was sent to the inside entering the stretch, but could not better his position while under brisk handling. SQUINT, a keen factor from the start, was forced wide at the final turn, then tired. SPURCHASE could not keep up. RAPID ROBERT never was dangerous. BIG IKE began slowly. KNIGHTS GIFT went to the front before going a guarter, made the pace to the stretch, then faltered when challenged by the winner. SNIFF SNIFF saved ground when outrun during the first half, then finished fast under urging; BOLD LADY raced well in a good effort and had no excuse. HENNY PENNY began fast, but could not keep up. Won driving; third the same. OBELISK, forwardly placed from the start, established a clear lead in the stretch, then lasted to finish in a dead-heat with STONE HILL. The latter, away sluggishly, steadily improved position to the stretch, responded to strong handling when sent to the inside for the drive and was up to finish on equal terms with OBELISK. ALTUCE, in hand to the stretch, closed strongly when hard ridden during the drive, but could not overtake the leaders. THE PROBLEM faltered nearing the finish. BAREFOOT LAD was outrun. GLIDER PILOT went to the front soon after the start, made the pace for six furlongs, then gave way. For late chart see tomorrows issue
