Clarke Entry Makes Bid In Bull Whip Purse Run Ala Mowlee and King Mowlee in First Mile and a Sixteenth Try DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 14. — Brandywine Stables Bull Whip, a stake competitor of more than a decade ago, is honored here tomorrow afternoon with the running of the mile and a sixteenth feature, designed for three- and four-year-olds. There are two couplings in the race: Alan T. Clarkes entry of King Mowlee and Ala Mowlee and the Mrs. Ellsworth H. Augustus tandem of Euclid and Midyear. Others in the affair are Mrs. E. duPont Weirs Koritza, Mrs. P. Ingalls Babs Whey and Lazy P Ranchs Coveted. Ala Mowlee and King Mowlee are full-brothers, both being by Alaking — Nell Mowlee, and between them have earned brackets on seven occasions thus far in the season while sprinting. Ala. Mowlee, a three-year-old and one year the junior of King Mowlee, is a four-time winner, all of his triumphs coming in claiming company. King Mowlee, too, -scored his victories aJnst claimers, on one occasion beating sprinters valued at 0,000. Each will be making his first attempt of the year to "get" a mile and a sixteenth. Euclid and Midyear make up a strong coupling for trainer Jim Radney, each having displayed sufficient speed and route-running ability to take the measure of tomorrow opposition. Euclid, a Fighting Fox colt, scored his lone victory of the year against sprint company, but was recently second to as steady a campaigner as Mully S. Midyear, a son of Questionnaire, has capabilities, but in his two local appearances has had his mind on matters other than racing. Lone filly in the race is Babs Whey, a daughter of Milkman who will be launching her 1951 campaign. After winning a pair of races on the flat last season, she was sent over hurdles and rounded out her campaign with four consecutive victories. She races well when fresh, as evidenced by her victory at first asking last year, and could prove formidable. Koritza has won a single race in four starts, his victory coming over this track against ,000 claimers. The Heliopolis gelding was over his head last time out, but was far from disgraced while finishing fifth behind Repetoire and other good three-year-olds in 1:11 flat. The New York circuit is represented by Coveted, a Discovery colt who graduated f ronv the maiden ranks last time out in what was the sixth start of his career. On that occasion he was timed in 1:44% in a race in which Scrappy was the beaten even-money choice.
