Phils Rap Three Cub Hurlers For 16 Hits to Triumph, 11-3 By the United Press The Philadelphia Phillies collected 16 hits today to smack the Cubs, 11 to 3, for the ninth victory in the last 12 games before 12,931 ladies day fans in Wrigley Field. A Cub castoff, Russ Meyer, went the distance for the victors, allowing only eight hits. He struck out five and walked four, but was never in trouble after the Phillies came up with a three run blast in the fifth inning. "The 1950 league champions belted the Cubs starter, Bob Rush, for seven runs and eighth hits in five and one-third innings, and thereafter neither Cal McLish nor Bob Kelly could hold them.
