Over 600 Reservations Made For Belmont Ball Tonight BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 14. — Even the weatherman is collaborating in assuring the success of the second annual Belmont Ball, which will be held in and around the Manice Mansion headquarters of the Turf and Field Club at Belmont Park tomorrow night. The forecast is for clearing tonight, with fair and warm weather tomorrow evening. More than 600 reservations have already been taken for the event, with the net proceeds going to the cancer fund. Fourteen dollars of each 0 paid for tickets goes to the fund, the other being the price set by Louis Sherry, the caterer, for the dinner. Mrs. George D. Widener, Mrs. Edward F. Hutton and Mrs. Walter J. Salmon, who form the committee, completed final arrangements at a -luncheon yesterday, at which they conferred with "Speed" Riggs, the Lucky Strike tobacco auctioneer, and Joe H. Palmer, of the Herald-Tribune, who will auction a mink stole, a jeweled spray, an RCA television set and a bronze statuette of Middleground, by June Harrah. The other items were donated by Saks Fifth Avenue, Carter and RCA in addition, chances at each are being sold on Herbert Hazeltines bronze statuette of the ideal horse, and three other items, one of which will be a shoe irom the Belmont Stakes winner. In all, the ladies are confidently hopeful that some 0,000 will be raised for the cancer fund.
