MISS NAP, prominent from the beginning, wrested command on the far turn and held sway thereafter under brisk urging. PETES BEST moved up menacingly on the outside nearing the furlong, marker, but was unable to overtake the winner when subjected to punishment. FRENCH NAVY rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. CLOY, guided to the inside for the drive, closed a gap. NORTH SHORE tired. DEVILISH LAD raced wide. FATE was through after a half mile. CONVALESCENT stopped badly once displaced. HIGH MAYER was not unduly persevered with when hopelessly beaten. KATHLEEN R, unhurried when outrun early, disposed of VININA entering the stretch and steadily drew clear when fully extended. VININA* gave way to the winner nearing the furlong marker, but held on willingly to be easily best of the others. DOCEAN raced evenly from the three-furlong marker to the stands without mishap. GINGERBREAD had no apparent excuse. BLUEBONNET GAL lacked a rally. MOON BABY was outrun. GAIL R. stumbled immediately after the start and failed to regain stride.-RUTH MURPHY quit. FAIR PORTER gave way suddenly inside the stretch. HALCYON DUKE had no apparent excuse. LASS QUEST tired. BLUE AGENT retired steadily-after tawing early speed. INFINOTTO quit. SHINING DEED, slow to reach best stride, slipped through next to the inside rail on the final turn, raced by ETERNAL FLIRT immediately thereafter and held CATSjMEOW safe in a" long drive. The latter recovered gamely from a sluggish beginning and, after coming out for the drive, gradually was getting to the top one. RIPPLING HIT failed to make up appreciable ground when set down for the ultimate test. ROYAL CHALLA rallied too late to become a menacing factor. ETERNAL FLIRT, much used early, had nothing left. ETELKA, under slight restraint during -the early running, secured ample racing room along the rail on the final turn and, after reaching the lead, Increased her margin with every stride. MARCH PROUDLY moved up on the outside to take command entering the stretch, then weakened. NUGGET GOLD closed with a belated burst of speed and probably would- prefer a longer distance. MR. NEALIE failed to respond when set down for the drive. DALEEN passed tiring horses, as did STUBUR. IRISH FLARE gave way suddenly after six furlongs. THE GHIZEH, in close quarters down the backstretch and again on the far turn, failed to recover. JOE GRAVES quit. PETER VINEGAR showed nothing. Overweight— The Ghizeh, 2 pounds; Reveille Gray, 5. MISS BLACK steadily improved her position on the outside to wrest command from IRST NIGHT nearing the three-sixteenths marker, then, under* urging, maintained her advantage over the latter. FIRST NIGHT raced ROCKY SIR into defeat to assume command after a half mile, gave way to the winner entering the stretch, but easily was best of- the others. CASTILE closed determinealy between horses after being outrun early. ROCKY SIR quit. ARCOURT had no mishap. BUDS PRIDE was on the outside throughout most of the journey.
