Power Drunk at Home Over Sloppy Course Defeats Flaming Bush by Two; Borgemenke on Three Winners By AVERY BROWN Staff Correspondent SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 14. — What a difference a day makes may be the title of a song but it was more fitting in describing the racing activities at Suffolk Downs this afternoon. After yesterdays grand weather which attracted 20,000 patrons, a northeast wind that whisked rain squalls kept todays crowd to a mere 6,532. v A sloppy racing strip was the cause of the program being riddled with scratches, yet 50 per cent of the favorites were successful through the first six events. In the featured Cambridge Purse, J. Lobiancos Power Drunk caught a track she relished and posted a two-length victory over Willie Of f ermans Flaming Bush with G. R. Schnars Halorette picturing J. H. Carrs Afterwards from the show position. Apprentice Ralph Borgemenke, leading rider of the current meeting added to his laurels by gaining a triple in the earlier events. The Newport, Ky., lad accounted for the Daily Double pay-off of 5.00 when he piloted P. Criscuolos Gift Package and Tamarack Stables Dimit to score in the first two races. Skipping the third event, Borgemenke made it a consecutive riding triple when he guided J. E. McBrides Mocha to a decision over Murlogg Farms Steps Girl in the fourth race. Oddly enough, Borgemenke was on the next two favorites, Speedy Baby in the fifth and Lefty Jim in the feature, but his luck ran out and he was unable to gain a money position with-either.
