OFF AT 5:23 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from, stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. RULE-ONE gradually improved her position to the stretch, was taken out and into the better footing for the drive and, responding to bfisk urging, disposed of the leaders to win going away. GRANDMAS DAY, away sluggishly and outrun early, was sent to the inside during the stretch run and closed willingly, but could not reach the top one. ARPEGE lacked early speed, but finished fast, in the- middle of the track. IMPELLER raced wide during the last quarter mile. MAD ~ AGAIN made up ground during the drive. TRIOGRAPH raced prominently to the final furlong, then tired. WAR STIM was never dangerous. LITTLE DANNY began fast, then failed to stay. PARKVIEW, a sharp factor from the beginning, went to the front after three-eighths, but tired while racing in the deepest footing during the final furlong. LADY TOY began fast, was tiring when placed in close quarters by PARKVIEW at the stretch turn and failed to recover. GENIAL JACK raced wide. BONA ETERNAL could not keep up. TEXAS RAIN, away sluggishly and ■ outrun to the last three-eighths, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and, closing fast under punishment, c wore down the leaders in the final sixteenth. COTTON JOE, never far back, reached the lead between calls , in the stretch, but could not hold the winner and probably needed his race. TACONY was hustled to the front before going a quarter, engaged COTTON JOE to the last eighth, then faltered. ILLUSTRATE lacked early J foot, but closed fast when sent between horses during the drive. PLAY AT was outrun. CONVICTED could not threaten the leaders. WISEHEIMER was never prominent. BYRONIC raced wide. AUNT DORA broke fast, raced well for three-eighths mile, then stopped, appearing to dislike the muddy track. Scratched— 30521 Galena, 115. Overweight— Aunt Dora, 1 pound. FOURTEEN GRAND, alertly handled, assumed command at once, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating and, responding to mild urging, held LUCKY MICKY safe. The latter, forwardly placed from the start, finished well under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. SON CHARLIE, in hand to the stretch, was in the deepest going during the drive and could not better his position. COLINOVA had no mishap, JEANETTE raced wide during the last half mile. HOLLY MAC lacked early foot, saved ground entering the stretch and, after establishing a clear lead, was unable to withstand the winner. DREAM COMFORT went into command soon after the start, made the pace for five-eighths mile, then faltered when challenged by HOLLY MAC. LUTZA could not get to the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. RESORT tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. WHATANURSE could nor keep up. BILLY BUMPS was never dangerous.
