CHIEF LOCO raced in closest pursuit of SILVER SPOT, closed resolutely when punished for the drive and was up at the end. SILVER SPOT held a clear lead under hustling and weakened only slightly. ROYAL CLOVER was energetically ridden "While prominently placed, but lugged in and lacked a rally. DOVER DOLL was a forward factor and finished well. RED CAMP came from far back. BLUE MIRAGE hesitated after the break, but was sent to the leaders on the outside after settling in stride, wrested command entering the stretch and continued evenly to hold LOTOFTOWN safe. The latter was steadied behind the first flight, came around horses for the stretch drive, but, drawing to the winner hung. PO GAL came between horses for the drive and finished well. HEAD STREAM was hustled to show the most early speed and weakened. IT GIRL began fast, but could not keep up. SUNNY SOUTH caught tiring horses. FAIR DEGREE raced wide. CERTAINLY was unhurried while outrun, steadily made up grcun4.after a half mile and bested HOOPDEDONT under punishment. HOOPDEDONT was sent into closer contention after reaching stride, wrested command on the final turn and, while swerving under punishment, held on well. JACK CARROLL dropped back steadily in the first half mile, then rallied willingly, but was no threat to the top pair. BLOOMING LIRE made a mild bid on the stretch turn and weakened. SUZE SIN was a" keen factor to the stretch and faltered. IDEALIST set the pace for six furlongs and tired badly. MISTIG was not a factor. MOLLIE FAGAN raced prominently placed, swung wide for clear racing at the head of the stretch and closed willingly under punishment to put away RECURRING. The latter outbroke the field and held a commanding lead, set the pace under pressure and had nothing left at the end. GRAY FLEET could not gain while sent in pursuit of RECURRING, but held on evenly in the drive. VAL-O-VAL gave an even effort. STOP AND THINK made up some distance late. BELRIA was not a menace. BERET was lightly steadied behind the first flight, challenged from the outside in the stretch drive and dosed gamely to be up in the last strides. PADDYS HAT was under intermittent reserve while losing distance contending for the pace outside two horses, lugged in and bumped HACKENSACK when punished in the early stretch, but was nicely handled thereafter ? to gain the decision over that one. HACKENSACK alternated in setting and forcing the pace while between horses, was bumped by PADDYS HAT in the early stretch, but apparently did not suffer and held on gamely. BOLO MACK saved ground fighting for the lead and weakened only slightly. EXCISE TAX loomed boldly in the early stretch, but hung. BOLD WARRIOR raced very wide in the drive. GEORGE CRUMP was pulled up lame in the stretch. CHARLEY FOY was alertly handled to outsprint RUGGED BOY away from the gate, saved all possible ground and held oh under strong handling to hold his rival safe. RUGGED BOY began fast, but could not stay with the winner, remained a keen factor however, and was gradually gaining at the end. FLYING PAT saved ground while well placed, but could not menace the topi pair. DRUIDS LYRICS saved ground to improve position on the final turn. REHEARSER was outrun. OUR TOWN could not keep up after a good beginning. COMET BOY faltered. CARIDURa began sluggishly and gave a dull effort. WOODCHUCK, away well, was briskly hustled through the inside to head DARK PETER passing the halfway marker, then steadily increased his advantage under occasional pressure and won with something left. DARK PETER began fast, could not resist the rapid, challenge of the winner down the backstretch, then tried to bear out slightly on the turn and was hard pressed to hold JUMBO clear. "The latter lacked early speed, but saved all possible ground and finished gamely. ALGASI.R was lightly restrained while well placed, then lacked a rally. FIRST GLANCE was taken up when in close quarters at the far turn, then gave a good effort. ARISE was outrun from the start and lost ground racing on the outside.
