TASK, forwardly placed from the start, raced by BIMOVER after five-eighths mile, established a clear lead in the stretch and won in hand. AIM, reserved to the stretch, finished strongly but could not reach the winner. DEALER lacked early foot but finished well under urging. BROWN BRUTUS, outrun to the stretch, was unable to threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. REIGH CANTER made a mild bid approaching the stretch, then faltered. BIMOVER went to the front early, made the pace until challenged by TASK, then gave way. SLAMMURING quit. Overweight Reigh Canter, 4 pounds. Aim claimed by Jerry Lynch, Inc. OLD BURLAP raced evenly to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, closing fast under punishment, disposed of the leaders during the last sixteenth. NINE BELLS was hustled to the front early, was placed in close quarter for the stretch run by WINSTAY, outgamed the- latter, bu was unable to withtstand the winner. WINSTAY, a sharp factor from the beginning, was permitted to drift over on NINE BELLS during the drive and could not overtake the latter. PAMARIS finished well under urging. HALRACK steadily worked his way forward, responded well when set down in the stretch and, after disposing of AMBROEE, held TRIPLINE safe. The latter raced wide to the stretch, bore to the inner rail during the drive and was unable to overtake the winner when his rider could not persevere with him in the last sixteenth. BARBECK saved ground throughout, but could not better her position when set down for the stretch drive. CATTARAGUS lacked early speed. AMBROEE went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way when challenged by HALRACK. ARBUCKLE began fast, but failed to stay. HOLLY MAC, reserved to the stretch, lacked racing room during the drive and could not seriously threaten the leaders. SPINSTER tired after racing well to the stretch. CLEANED, a sharp factor throughout, faltered nearing the final furlong. ONWARD MARCH, in hand to the last quarter, could not better her position when set down through the stretch. ATHLETE was outrun. GRANDE MONDE had a rough trip. HI-CHROME tired. BUCKS FANCY was never dangerous. CLEARANCE, on the outside from the start, weakened after racing well to the upper turn. MY JAM was through early.
