Presenting its third stakes event in as many afternoons of sport, Delaware Park tomorrow features its eight-race program with the fifteenth running of the 0,000 added Brandywine Handicap, a test of a mile and a sixteenth for three-year-olds and upwards. In this week-end attraction, which serves as an excellent conditioner for the richer and more exacting Sussex Handicap, Rokeby Stables County Delight will accept his highweight assignmment of 126 pounds. Opposing Paul Mellons representative will be the following; Mrs. Evelyn L. Hopkins Three Rings, 116; Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Yildiz, 114; Circle M Farms War Poppy and Joseph Gavegnanos Joey Boy. each with 112; Harry B. Cohens Mully S., 110; Mrs. Eben H. Ellison, Jr.s Sun Bahram, 108, and C.H. Everitts Little Imp, 106 pounds. Proficient Performer in 1951 County Delight has been no whirlwind during his two-race 1952 campaign, having been 12 lengths behind Spartan Valor in the Excelsior and three lengths behind Alerted in the Dixie. He was, however one of the most proficient handicap performers in the conutry last year, winning the Metropolitan, Merchants and Citizens, Gallant Fox and Dixie Handicaps and earning a portion of the purse in each of his 20 starts. He will be ridden in the Brandywine by Joe Servis, under whom he showed improvement in the Dixie and a recent one mile trial, in which he was timed in 1 :39 while merely breezing. Weather permitting Three Rings should attract considerable attention and give a good account of himself. The seven-year-old Blue Larkspur gelding, following a lack-luster winter campaign, has raced exceedingly well since arriving north. He haS won a pair of races, the Bowie and Lucky Draw Handicaps, and has garnered 3,215. Rbcco Sisto, whose stakes record in recent months has been little short of sensational, will handle the veteran. Mrs. Jeffords will be reeking a consecutive double in the Brandywine, her Post Card having finished in a "dead heat with Brandywine Stables Cochise in last years renewal. Yildiz, who gained prominence among last years three-year-olds with a victory in Hialeahs Flamingo, then, failed to run back to that effort, is without a victory in five starts this term. He has been idle since Florida and, as usual has impressed with morning training moves. He will be ridden by Ronnie Nash. Defeated Combat Boots War Poppy, a Roman five-year-old who is conditioned by George Odom, has won three races this season, his last two consecutively. Last Saturday he beat Combat Boots and High Bracket at Belmont Park while touring a mile and a sixteenth in 1:44. Hedley Woodhouse will be down from New York to accept the saddle assignment. Joey Boy won a mile and one-sixteenth overnight event in 1:45 at Garden State and came back with a corking third behind Alerted and Crafty Admiral in the inaugural running of the Thomas J. Healey Memorial Handicap, in which he was beaten two lengths. He could be the surprise under 112 pounds, especially under the proficient veteran, Fernando Fernandez. Mully S., Sun Bahram and Little Imp shape up as named in the Brandywine. Mully S. yon his last in New Jersey while being timed in 1:46 in the mud. Sun Bahram has failed in three starts this year but has always favored the local strip, having won the Leonard Richards in 1949 through the disqualification of the Capot-Wine List entry. Little Imp was third behind Laran and Adopt on opening day and has one good race to his credit, in which he was second to Mameluke, which would give him a chance. W. J. SUSIN I Saddled tramore Bay to win yesterdays opening race at Detroit.
